Research Experience
Research Assistant — Transformative Robotics Lab, Northeastern UniversityJan. 2025 – Present
RADs (Reconfigurable Auxetic Devices) — advised by Prof. Jeffrey Lipton
- Applied lattice math and geometry to add Z-axis control to the 9 existing control nodes of a reconfigurable auxetic lattice that moves via backlash between nodes rather than flexing, increasing maximum displacement by about 75%.
- Motorized the previously hand-configured lattice by designing and programming a closed-loop motor control system with an Arduino and a Python script, enabling arbitrary configurations while keeping it easy to manufacture and assemble.
Viscous Thread Printing for Orthotics
- Enabled printing of custom orthotic foams by programming a slicer plugin modeled on coiling viscous thread behavior.
- Built a high-cycle fatigue test stand that ran multiple foam samples to 10,000 cycles, showing only marginal creep.
Industry Experience
Mechanical Engineering Co-op — GreensightJul. 2026 – Present
- Built a load test rig from XFLR5 lift analysis and tested wings to 5 G, catching an elevon actuation failure before flight.
- Delivered validated removable wing joints and landing gear for a prototype vehicle through 5 design and test iterations.
- Prepared a vehicle for low-volume production by creating select assembly processes and custom crates and packaging.
Mechanical Engineering Co-op — Apeiron LabsJul. 2025 – Jun. 2026
- Integrated acoustic communications and passive acoustic monitoring packages into an underwater robot, designing in Onshape to minimize hydrodynamic impact and keep center of buoyancy and center of mass shifts under 0.5 mm.
- Streamlined production of new units by creating detailed, annotated assembly drawings and fixtures.
- Ensured vendor parts met specification by producing GD&T drawings, coordinating with suppliers, and inspecting deliveries.
Awards & Honors
2nd Place, MassRobotics Form & Function University Robotics Challenge2026
Robotics Summit & Expo, Boston. Team entry: Flat-Plane Mechanism for Metrology. Judged by a panel of robotics industry experts against 15 teams worldwide, including MIT, Penn, Purdue, Columbia, Waterloo, UBC, Tufts, WPI and Boston University.
Leadership & Service
Co-President — Northeastern RoboticsDec. 2024 – Present
- Oversaw 200+ members, 5 projects, and a $25,000+ budget, securing the faculty, space, and funding each project lead needed.
- Maintained a lab of 9 FDM/SLA printers (incl. a custom Voron 350) and a self-hosted server, handling repairs and consumables.
- Wrote trainings and SOPs for the printers, reflow oven, and power tools so members could use them safely and independently.
Project Lead — MitosisJan. 2024 – Present
- Led design of multiple concurrent 3D printer projects, including a 4-axis rotary printer with its own custom slicer, designed to print arbitrary overhangs without supports and give more control over layer orientation.
- Directed a 12-member team, running meetings to teach members and keep hardware and software sub-teams in sync.
Selected Projects
Beetle Weight Battle Bot (SpinnyBoi3002)Sep. 2024 – Present
- Led a 3-person team to design and prototype custom mechanical, electrical, and computer systems for a 3-pound Battle Bot.
- Designed a ring spinner with a shielded outer ring and a unique 3-point omni drive, achieving strong omnidirectional agility while still qualifying for the shuffler weight bonus.
- Designed a custom ESP32-S3 circuit board and wrote its C firmware for Wi-Fi remote operation and closed-loop motor control from accelerometer data, with failsafes for individual component disconnection and mechanical failure.
- Mitigated structural weaknesses of 2 previous versions by pinpointing failure points with FEA and physical testing.
Prototype Electric LongboardSep. 2026 – Present
- Designing and building an electric longboard from scratch targeting 20 miles of range at 25 mph, with a solderless high-discharge 10S2P 21700 battery housing for easy service and battery swaps, ESP32-based electronics, and machined parts.
